The City of Swainsboro and the Emanuel County Board of Commissioners have partnered to offer the CodeRED emergency communication system for all city and county residents. All residents and businesses are encouraged to register for this free service to receive automated notification in cases of emergency. To register, click here or click on the image below.
CodeRED utilizes telephone, cellular phone, text message, and/or e-mail to notify residents and businesses about emergencies that may affect them directly. For instance, messages may be issued only to specific neighborhoods, or to the entire county.
Emergencies in which residents and businesses may be notified include:
- Severe weather warnings
- Flash flood warnings
- Evacuation notices and routes
- Chemical spills and gas leaks
- Fires
- Other emergencies in which rapid and accurate notification is essential
