The Building/Zoning Department serves all citizens of the City of Swainsboro and any individuals or businesses desiring to locate to Swainsboro. The Building Department issues permits and performs inspections for any new residential and commercial construction within the city limits of Swainsboro. The Building Department also inspects additions and remodels and handles all meeting and issues for planning and zoning for Swainsboro. Issues of dilapidated structures are similarly under the jurisdiction of this department.
