The Swainsboro Police Department is a strong member of the citywide “team”. Consistent with the concept of community policing, the department endeavors to assist citizens in eliminating the underlying causes of crime, conflicts or safety hazards by assisting in the coordination of a concerted effort involving various branches of city government such as Public Works, Fire Department, Planning Department, the Prosecutor’s Office and the Municipal Court. The Police Department also works closely with the Emanuel County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia State Highway Patrol. The department provides round-the-clock service and is made up of patrol, various administrative, detective, records/communications and support personnel.
