East Georgia College is a fully accredited, non-residential, two-year college of the University System of Georgia. EGC’s main campus in Swainsboro is a friendly and caring environment, where you can earn your Associate’s Degree in a beautiful, scenic setting. EGC also offers an online, Associate degree; a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management degree in partnership with Georgia Southwestern State University; a nursing program on campus through Darton College and a ROTC program through Georgia Southern University. EGC has an instructional site in Statesboro on Fair Road. East Georgia College is known for its academic excellence and service to the surrounding 18-county region. Swainsboro Technical College is a state technical college governed by the Georgia Department of Technical and Adult Education. The college provides workforce development through relevant education and training experiences for those it serves. The mission of the college is to provide seamless, accessible, high-quality technical associate degree, diploma, and certificate of credit programs; continuing education; adult education; and customized business and industry training and services that meet the needs of individuals, businesses and communities. There are nearly 100 fields of study offered through the college’s department at the college’s training centers, on-line and at its thirty acre campus in Swainsboro. Swainsboro Tech is committed to enhancing the economic development of the service area counties of Candler, Emanuel, Jenkins, Johnson, and Treutlen and preparing people for success in the workforce. Swainsboro Technical College boasts a 96.7 % employment rate for its 
students.
The administration of the college, led by Larry Calhoun, President, is focused on delivering training that is associated with careers available for area residents. This focus leads to regular updating of program offerings and a nearly constant expansion of course opportunities.
