A Swainsboro native, Sandra Stroud is proud to represent District 1 as a Councilwoman. Ms. Stroud is a graduate of Swainsboro High School and attended East Georgia College. She retired as office manager of a local optometrist. Sandra Stroud is active in her community and has served on the Board of Directors for the Emanuel County Alcohol and Drug Detox Center and the Board of Directors for Swainsboro Presbyterian Apartments whose goal is offer low income housing to elderly residents. She is also an elder at Swainsboro Presbyterian Church in Swainsboro.

Sandra Stroud was elected to Swainsboro’s City Council in 2004 and reelected in 2008. Her goal in entering local politics was to “serve our community and make a difference.” She is the proud mother of three boys and three grandchildren.
