A native of Swainsboro, Henry Cleve Edenfield is the son of the late Otis and Doris Edenfield. He graduated from Swainsboro High School in 1974 and pursued a career in the field of Water and Wastewater operations. After attending The Georgia Water & Wastewater Institute, he obtained advanced certification in both areas.

Councilman Edenfield has been an active member of the community. He served in the Swainsboro Jaycees, Miss Emanuel County/Southeast Georgia Scholarship Pageant Board, and was past President of the Southeast Georgia Jaycee Fair Board. He was one of the founding members of the Emanuel County Clean Community Commission. Councilman Edenfield is currently a member of the Swainsboro Masonic Lodge #244, the Alee Shiners of Savannah, and the Swainsboro Shrine Club. He is a member of the First United Methodist Church of Swainsboro. In addition to community services, Councilman Edenfield currently serves in the capacity of Vice President of District 9 Region 4 for the Georgia Municipal Association.

Edenfield is married to Sharon McGee Edenfield and has two children, Krissy and Kyle. He is currently employed by Georgia Rural Water Association as a Circuit Rider providing on-site technical assistance to all community water systems throughout the state of Georgia.
